Although I work for one of the leading manufacturers of inks and printers, I am foremost a consumer trying to save a few pennies off my personal printing costs. I tried to look for alternative third party ink solutions for my 3-in-1 and I found a good resource online that sells not only generic 3rd party ink but real branded inks at a fraction of a cost.
Aside from ink, they also sell toners, toner cartridges and fax cartridges. The good thing about inkers.biz is that they actually offer 100% no defect for 1 year from purchase and a no-questions-asked return policy within a month.
In this day and age, when printing is ridiculously expensive, it does help to save up on a few dollars with ink and toner purchases.

I was invited by my friend Lia to do a photoshoot with her class at the La Salle College International in Salcedo Village. Coming from a hectic month of travelling to Japan and China, and to Cagayan de Oro the week after, I decided to cap the year with a shoot. So I said yes, and we agreed on the timing. One of the concepts that I really liked is Adam & Even, because of the simplicity and sensuality that came with it.

Everyday. Everywhere. We see a lot of contradiction.
For some, it is a nightmare that haunts them.
For some, it is the fire the ignites their senses.
For some, it is the strength the fuels their passion.
Contradiction. It is such an amazing thing. It drives, it kills, it renews the spirit.
This is a piece, I offer to the world.
Of Contradictions.

There was this photo contest some time in March that I thought of joining. Not really for anything but just for the heck of it. I sent an entry…and I won a 1GB CF Card! Isn’t that nice?
Lots of love to Megan and her proud dad, Pio!
Here’s the winning photo:

This was taken at the Cemetery in Clark Field, Pampanga, Philippines. We were trying to do a semi-fashion shoot in the location when I suddenly saw the kid, running around the tombstones, without an adult watching over. Well, the nanny was watching her from a distance, just a little bit close so she could easily pull her up when Megan falls. At first I wanted to chase her and shoot from the front. Then it hit me, I could just drop on my knees and shoot from behind her to give it a more surreal and mysterious effect.

I met Mafe a couple of months ago. She was introduced to me by my friend Marco. We went to do a shoot with her, purely beauty. Here’s one of my favorites from that shoot.

I don’t know if it’s just me, watching too much Grey’s Anatomy or she does really have a resemblance with Meredith.

Who says panning is only used for objects in motion? One of my biggest influence and mentor in photography taught me the art of panning on portraits during one of the fun shoot/experiments we had at his studio. Master Ken, thanks for the tips! Here is a product of what I learned that evening.

I have to say this, her skin color is by far the best I’ve ever seen. She a hands down winner in terms of achieving that perfect tan!!! and really I envy her color because no matter what I do, I will never be able to achieve that color unless I do so serious airbrush work, which would cost me an arm and a leg…or even both!
