I saw this on Peaches’ multiply and I just felt moved by their story. I hope that in my own little way, I am able to reach out to the readers of this blog and share the true meaning of selfless love through the story of Team Hoyt.

I am very particular to details so I always make sure to write everything down when I am in a phone conversation. More often than not, I miss a thing or two, especially if I don’t have a pen and paper at the time of call. There is always a danger of missing some important items during a phone call like home address, phone numbers, or a long list of things to do for a project. Sometimes, when the information is too much to contain, it has become a habit for me to ask the caller to drop me an email documenting our conversation — which is rather redundant. I am pretty sure my caller get irked sometimes having to do all the writing when that was the reason why he picked up the phone in the first place — so he won’t have to put it in writing!

Take the case of my sister in law. She would call me from time to time to buy stuff for her and send it via courier to Australia.  Although I have a mental clue on what she needs, I always advise her to send everything in email so then I can come back to it anytime at my convenience.

There are times when my brain just won’t take in information, especially when I am in the middle of troubleshooting an issue. My focus is so much that I just nod to anyone talking although I barely heard them at all. I know it’s bad habit, but sometimes, when you get used to multitasking, it becomes very instinctive.

I was invited by my friend Lia to do a photoshoot with her class at the La Salle College International in Salcedo Village. Coming from a hectic month of travelling to Japan and China, and to Cagayan de Oro the week after, I decided to cap the year with a shoot. So I said yes, and we agreed on the timing. One of the concepts that I really liked is Adam & Even, because of the simplicity and sensuality that came with it.

I got me a new toy tonight. It’s a 160 GB SATA 2.5 HDD. Why? Because I want to.

Well, not really because I want to.  If I buy stuff, it’s usually because I need it, more than I want it. I’m not the type who would buy stuff out of the blue based on the premise that “I want it.” It’s almost always “I need it” then I buy it.  Not saying that I won’t totally buy things simply because I want it, because that would make me a hypocrite. I do have my own set of “luho” like anyone else. But when I do entertain the thought of feeding my wants, the though process is usually long and hard. I need a lot of convincing and to some degree, persistence and growing want! Otherwise, I would just drop the whole thought and move on.

Anyway, back to my new toy. It’s quite sleek. What surprised me though was that it works with 2 USBs… this is the first time I’ve seen one like that but I guess it’s because I never owned any USB-powered external HDD in my whole life. I am still waiting for the slow format to complete, to check if there are any bad sectors in the disk… that’s why I’m blogging (well, actually i need to because I need to put oen in for my 90-day challenge!)
