Team Hoyt May 4
I saw this on Peaches’ multiply and I just felt moved by their story. I hope that in my own little way, I am able to reach out to the readers of this blog and share the true meaning of selfless love through the story of Team Hoyt.

I am very particular to details so I always make sure to write everything down when I am in a phone conversation. More often than not, I miss a thing or two, especially if I don’t have a pen and paper at the time of call. There is always a danger of missing some important items during a phone call like home address, phone numbers, or a long list of things to do for a project. Sometimes, when the information is too much to contain, it has become a habit for me to ask the caller to drop me an email documenting our conversation — which is rather redundant. I am pretty sure my caller get irked sometimes having to do all the writing when that was the reason why he picked up the phone in the first place — so he won’t have to put it in writing!
Take the case of my sister in law. She would call me from time to time to buy stuff for her and send it via courier to Australia. Although I have a mental clue on what she needs, I always advise her to send everything in email so then I can come back to it anytime at my convenience.
There are times when my brain just won’t take in information, especially when I am in the middle of troubleshooting an issue. My focus is so much that I just nod to anyone talking although I barely heard them at all. I know it’s bad habit, but sometimes, when you get used to multitasking, it becomes very instinctive.
Not until I found purplegoods.com phone-007. It was just amazing! Aside from the fact that it works just like an ordinary phone, it takes a recording of your conversation available to you online so you can play it back anytime, to review if you missed anyting! Like the geek gadget that it is, phone-007 starts recording and sends an SMS to you, you just have to set it to send to your mobile phone!
Purplegoods.com has really taken documentation and espionage to another level with phone-007. Having a personal secretary has gone passe with the advent of this amazing technology. Indeed, the purplegoods.com Phone-007 has surpassed the demands of this day and age.
I guess that I am not the only person who could make practical use of this phone. Cheating spouses, beware! Always keep your hands in the right places… your wife could know now… especially with her new bestfriend – the phone-007!
I was invited by my friend Lia to do a photoshoot with her class at the La Salle College International in Salcedo Village. Coming from a hectic month of travelling to Japan and China, and to Cagayan de Oro the week after, I decided to cap the year with a shoot. So I said yes, and we agreed on the timing. One of the concepts that I really liked is Adam & Even, because of the simplicity and sensuality that came with it.

Ever wonder how to dispose of your HP servers and workstations that are no longer of use to you? Is it taking so much space in your office? If you’re one of those people or if you work for a company that has old HP products that is ready to hit the trashbin, but just don’t happen to fit in, check out this new initiative from HP Philippines – The HP Planet Partners Hardware Return and Recycling Programme.
In line with this initiative, I just received word about the HP Planet Partners LaserJet Toner Cartridge Recycling Program for HP-Philippines office. This is what it says:
“In keeping with Hewlett-Packard’s long-established commitment to balancing company progress and efficiency with good corporate citizenship, HP offers the Planet Partners Program.
Since 1990, with increased consumer input, HP was able to divert over 18 million pounds of materials from landfills by recycling every toner cartridge received. Returned HP cartridges are converted into raw materials to be used in the manufacture of everyday products.
From design to manufacture to packaging and recycling, HP has met critical environmental goals. And HP is determined to go right on improving its performance too.”
Here’s how we can help achieve this objective. When your cartridges are of no further use, please send your empty cartridges to Basement 1 Robinsons Summit Center 6783 Ayala Avenue, Makati City where we have our HP Recycling Box.
For Metro Manila and Provincial pick-ups, please contact Ms. Geraldine Lontoc of WWW Express at (632) 879-888; just mention that it is in connection with “HP’s Planet Partners Program”.

I got me a new toy tonight. It’s a 160 GB SATA 2.5 HDD. Why? Because I want to.
Well, not really because I want to. If I buy stuff, it’s usually because I need it, more than I want it. I’m not the type who would buy stuff out of the blue based on the premise that “I want it.” It’s almost always “I need it” then I buy it. Not saying that I won’t totally buy things simply because I want it, because that would make me a hypocrite. I do have my own set of “luho” like anyone else. But when I do entertain the thought of feeding my wants, the though process is usually long and hard. I need a lot of convincing and to some degree, persistence and growing want! Otherwise, I would just drop the whole thought and move on.
Anyway, back to my new toy. It’s quite sleek. What surprised me though was that it works with 2 USBs… this is the first time I’ve seen one like that but I guess it’s because I never owned any USB-powered external HDD in my whole life. I am still waiting for the slow format to complete, to check if there are any bad sectors in the disk… that’s why I’m blogging
(well, actually i need to because I need to put oen in for my 90-day challenge!)
