Stormy. This is an understatement when used to describe the week that was. Indeed, it was pretty hectic! Doing my OMEGA tracking made me realize I practically worked 3 extra days this week. I know I am an advocate of work-life balance and spending long hours at work is not a quality I would like to attribute to myself. But things outside our control just happen.
As if this is not enough to alarm me, I was jolted when JP asked me over ML on Friday night, “So what book are you reading now?” The question practically came out of nowhere… and it struck me. I have not been reading a lot! I took me a good few seconds of awkward hesitation – Sandman! Indeed, I pickup my comic book from time to time to lull myself to sleep… but other than that, I have not been reading anything that could fuel my soul, my thoughts.
That one question, innocent as it is, made me realize that indeed, I have been losing a lot of my personal life by spending it churning code at work. I know I can make all the excuses that I want but working long hours is going to bite me back in the rear at some point in time… so Saturday came. Instead of bringing a stack of magazines to the Car Care Center, I brought with me some reviewers and a book by Lee Silber entitled “Organizing from the Right Side of the Brain”.

Although I work for one of the leading manufacturers of inks and printers, I am foremost a consumer trying to save a few pennies off my personal printing costs. I tried to look for alternative third party ink solutions for my 3-in-1 and I found a good resource online that sells not only generic 3rd party ink but real branded inks at a fraction of a cost.
Aside from ink, they also sell toners, toner cartridges and fax cartridges. The good thing about inkers.biz is that they actually offer 100% no defect for 1 year from purchase and a no-questions-asked return policy within a month.
In this day and age, when printing is ridiculously expensive, it does help to save up on a few dollars with ink and toner purchases.

Finally, I will take a much much needed rest after working my ass off the last couple of weeks. Yeah, corporate life sucks big time but it does have it’s perks… like a day or 2 on sabbatical on the beach on the company’s pocket. Not bad, huh? Well, it’s not so big like an offsite for the whole team in Bora, but at least there’s something to look forward to… And I’m a teeny bit excited about it. I packed my game of Taboo! already… and a big stash of ruffles to munch on while I lie down in the sand in Sepoc beach. I can’t wait to get a tan!!! Anywhere near salty water works for me!
I will try to take pictures. But don’t count on it. I’m just too damn lazy to post em all here.
check my flickr… I just might!
